MedAisle Express Care, a walk-up medical clinic, opened its first clinic within the Sak 'n Save Food Store on Oddie and Silverada Blvd. in Reno, NV. Affordable medical services, including treatment of minor injuries, common illnesses and conditions as well as physical examinations and vaccinations are now available and conveniently located in a grocery store. The clinic is staffed by physicians, physician's assistants and nurse practitioner and sees patients on a walk-in basis. The clinic is open seven days a week, Monday – Friday, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Most visits last about 15 to 20 minutes, and prescriptions or over-the-counter medications can be purchased before leaving the store. Patients waiting to be seen can grab a pager and shop while they wait. “MedAisle Express Care is bringing a convenient and affordable health care solution to the community. We offer low cost quality health care to anyone with or without insurance. The clinic is a walk-in clinic and the visits average 15 to 20 minutes. Consumers have spoken out against the rise in health care costs, we have developed a solution. The 2008 Survey of Health Care Consumers, from the Deloitte Center for Health Solutions, finds the appetite for retail medical clinics is real, and growing, and the potential for future success substantial. With waiting times less than 30 minutes, most people go for convenience but this is also a more affordable option for the uninsured, which are more likely to visit retail clinics than the insured. The following statistics demonstrate the increase in consumer interest in retail clinics. -More than 1 in 3 consumers surveyed are receptive to the idea of using retail clinics.
